Robert L. West is an Associate Professor in the Institute of Cognitive Science and the Department of Psychology at Carleton University.  His research involves creating computer simulations of human cognition, with a particular focus on strategy and competition. More recently he has been investigating the implications of Buddhist ideas of compassion for the process of Evolution.
